How to continue professional development in the short summer term
22 May 2017

Sometimes it's hard to recruit teachers to summer courses because they don't think they can develop professionally in such a short time. But that does not have to be case, suggests Fiona Dunlop.

Fiona, academic director at Wimbledon School of English, will explain what to implement to provide, monitor and measure professional development during a short summer course at our Get Ready for Summer Conference next month at Macmillan Education in London.

Referencing the British Council CPD framework and how it can be effectively used by summer school managers and teachers, she says summer CPD can benefit not only the teacher but the organisation too.

Fiona has been part of the ELT sector for the past two decades, including teacher training, business English and academic management. Currently, she is focusing on providing training on several fields of ELT, such as course design, academic quality and teacher observation.

With sessions on how to keep your staff motivated, developing and ready to handle any student disruption during the short summer period, the English UK Get Ready for Summer Conference will give you the practical tools to survive the summer!

Prices are £40 for members and £60 for non-members.
